Lightwedge Original Book Light

The Lightwedge Original book light is a handy tool for frequent travelers who love to read (like me). Sometimes the lighting in planes and trains isn’t stellar, and you need a little something to light your way. The nice people at Great Point Lighting, the maker of the product, recently sent me a unit to test (in pink!) and I really enjoyed it. The Lightwedge Original is a little different than any other book light I’ve used. It is a clear acrylic lens you lay over the page, which spreads light …

Book Your Poker Tournament Seat Online
PTseats.com is a spanking new online booking service like no other. You don’t book hotel rooms or car rentals or boring Grey Line tours, you book a slot for your gambling habit - tickets for poker tournaments. Awesome!
The websites first casino partner is the Trump Taj Mahal, located right down the street (kind of) from the Business Travel Logue in beautiful Atlantic City, New Jersey. The on-line booking agency provides “fast, secure and convenient tickets to play poker at tournaments anywhere in the United States.” That sounds handy.
According to Fabricio Schaffrath, the company’s founder, …

Mobivox - Skype Calls Without Your PC
Mobivox is a new service that promises great things. Things such as the ability to contact anyone in your Skype contact list without the use of a PC and with no download required. So you can contact your people from anyplace without struggling to find the nearest hotspot or paying an outrageous service fee to get online for 10 minutes (like I had to do at the Marriott the other night). Mobivox is a mobile Application Service Provider that bridges the gap between mobile phones, VoIP and Voice over Instant Messaging (VoIM) to connect the mobile, PC, …

Hurricane Katrina Self Guided Audio Tour

Travelers to the great city of New Orleans who have been away for a while or who have never seen the city before generally have a few common goals. Seeing Rue de Bourbon and now seeing the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. I made my way to the Crescent City for Jazz Fest about 8 months after the disaster, and was awed by the ravages of the city. New Orleans has certainly progressed in the last two years, but it is a city changed forever. Travelers now have the option …

Seattle Mariners - Safeco Field
We at the Business Travel Logue continue with our dedication to all things baseball. Despite being REALLY tired in Seattle last night (I’m on east coast time), I made my way to the Mariners vs. Angels game and was pleasantly surprised. When you think of teams with great records, teams who have a shot in the post season, teams who have dominated the sport, Seattle just doesn’t come to mind. But despite that fact, the city has the very best baseball fans I’ve seen this year. It’s …

Element Hotels “Eco-Etiquitte” Techniques
I LOVE Element Hotels for their environmentally friendly approach. They have now put out a list of things travelers can do to minimize their environmental impact while traveling.
Here they are, straight from the horse’s mouth:
Get unplugged: Many people don’t realize that their cell phone charger, laptop cable and other electrical plugs drain power while they are plugged in, even if they are not in use. In fact, only 5% of the power used by an average cell phone charger is used to charge the phone—the other 95% is wasted energy.
Seize the day: Take advantage of natural light …
