Air France Sattelite Images From Flights

MumbaiAir France has a new little seat back feature, in which the airline is showing its passengers satellite views of the countries, cities and terrain they are flying over, thanks to a new partnership with the European Space Agency.

That’s one step creepier than driving by someone’s house. Okay, not really. You don’t have the option to zoom in where you want.

The airline receives satellite images on CD and uses them to create a program lasting the full length of each flight on its services from Paris to Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Singapore. So, while it sounds cool you’re not seeing live images. Some, in fact, may be up to a year old.

Pretty cool, though.
