Amtrak Guest Rewards® allows travelers to earn train miles, airline miles and gift certificates, similar to any airline miles program. Train travel can be a great alternative to driving oneself or flying short distances, provided you like in an area of the world where there is decent train service available. On Amtrak, earning options are as follows:
- 2 points for every dollar spent on Amtrak travel (100-point minimum on each trip, no matter the price)
- When you take Acela Express® or Metroliner® between select city pairs, you’ll earn 500 points
- When you ride Acela Express or Metroliner First Class between Select City Pairs, you’ll earn 750 points

Hotel Partners: Hyatt, Hilton HHonors, Loews Hotels, Omni, Starwood and Guest Rewards
Car Partners: Budget, Hertz and Zipcar
Members can also earn rewards for online purchases through the Amtrak website.
