EasyJet Eco Jets - Environmentally Friendly Planes

EasyJet, one of the many, many European bargain air carriers, has announced something worthwhile. The company plans to build a new fleet of short distance planes by 2015 that will have the following improvements over the newest aircraft of today (the 737 and A320 families of aircraft):

  • Cut noice by 25%

  • Cut CO2 emissions by 50%
  • Cut N)2 emissions by 75%

The above will be accomplished by using state of the art engines, lighter engines and other technology. Fantastic! But I bet you a dollar Richard Branson comes out with something sooner.
