Hotels.com, the popular online hotel booking engine is offering customers a $30 gas rebate for travel booked from May 20, 2007 to September 9, 2007.
Here’s what you do:
- Book hotel accommodations online at hotels.com or call 1-800-2HOTELS. Rooms should be booked by July 2 for travel from May 20 through September 9, 2007.
- Fill out the online rebate form.
- Receive a $30 gas rebate credited to your credit card account upon completion of your hotel stay. A minimum two-night stay is required to receive the rebate.
Receipts are not required to take advantage of the gas rebate offer, and there is no limit to the number of rebates a traveler can receive throughout the duration of the summertime promotion. The rebate is $30 regardless of the number of hotel rooms booked. So if you travel frequently for work, you could rack up on the free gas by booking your stays through hotels.com this summer.

Your gas rebate description is confusing. Do I get a $30 rebate for every stay of two days or more for each stop or is it just one rebate regardless of how many 2+ stops I make within your time allowance?
It is my understanding that this is how it works:
You get $30 for each stay of two days or more. If you arrange more than one stay through the website then you get more than one rebate. For example, if you book a reservation for June 11 and 12 you get $30. If you also book July 8 and 9, you get another $30. If you then book a third trip for additional days in July, then you’ll get another $30.
I do not represent hotels.com, so please check their website for additional restrictions and information.
I hope that clarifies the above. I do believe this is a great deal for frequent travelers, such as sales people who may visit a different area each week (like I did in my previous job).
