Pod Hotel in New York

The Pod Hotel is a new space in Manhattan, located on 51st Street, between Second and Third Avenue. At a rock-bottom $89 a night, this hotel won’t break the bank. If you’re used to wide-open spaces, this isn’t the place to look. Single rooms offer a cozy 100 square feet with shared bathrooms and bunk beds. Double rooms ring in at an additional 50 feet squared with private bathrooms and flat-screen TVs.

The pod hotel sounds like a fabulous place to mix and mingle while you’re in the city with lots of common space available, an outdoor cafe and a rooftop deck. What more could you possible need?

The coolest part of this hotel is that it provides a blog on which guests can hook up with other travelers to reserve tables in nearby restaurants. I know I get tired of eating alone while on the road, don’t you? What a great way to spend your dinner while in the city!

If you’re headed this way, give it some thought. Especially if you’re traveling alone.
