United Airlines and Coca Cola

Coke JokeUnited Airlines has signed a five-year beverage agreement with The Coca-Cola Company, making it United’s primary soft drink supplier, effective May 1, 2007. This new business partnership will give United’s customers a choice of eight Coca-Cola beverages, including Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Sprite Zero, Spring Water, Seagrams Ginger Ale, Tonic and Seltzer Water, while providing both economic benefits for United and joint promotional activities for customers and employees. Does that mean they served Pepsi before or is this a renewal? I’m not much of a soda drinker (unless it has rum in it), so I can’t recall what they serve on United.

In addition to its onboard beverage offering, United will also offer Coca-Cola products in its airport lounges and offices later this year. To offer customers a memorable inflight dining experience, United recently formed a partnership with world-renowned Chef Charlie Trotter and Trader Vic’s Polynesian restaurant. As of July, customers flying First Class and Business Class on eastbound flights to Europe or on transcontinental flights will have a choice of cuisine specially created by legendary Chicago restaurant owner and Chef Charlie Trotter. Last summer, United customers began to receive a taste of the islands with Trader Vic’s award-winning Polynesian cuisine and world-famous Mai-Tai cocktails, on select flights. Mmmm. Mai-Tais.
