Vodafone Test VoIP Phone

Wireless FreedomVoIP services are for sure what’s next in communications. So it’s high time we start seeing more options available in the realm of VoIP phones. Belkin has recently released a Skype phone, which Mika at the Travel Gear Blog recently reviewed. And I’ve heard good news that Vodafone has recently concluded testing a similar Wi-Fi phone that will allow users to chat via with MSN, Yahoo, AOL, and Skype, as well as place calls using Skype. They call it Starfish.

Apparently, Vodafone is trying to gauge the potential success of the product before going in to production, so don’t look for it in stores just yet. But I think once they decide to go ahead with the product, it will be a big hit. Especailly in cities offering muni Wi-Fi (which are growing in number every day) and users of Whisker.
