* Review: My counting in Japanese is rusty, as I quit karate a few years ago, but I’m pretty certain “Ich” means “One.” So Ichibon could be “We’re number one!” Probably not, but a good way to remember this fantastic sushi and hibachi establishment near George Bush International Airport in Houston. The Greenspoint neighborhood isn’t ideal, but if you’re here for a short stay, I can’t recommend a better place for hibachi. I ordered my standard hibachi scallops with fried rice. In addition, I tried the spicy tuna roll. The hibachi was pretty good and the sushi was standard. The chef displayed the normal assortment of tricks, with a few I had never seen. If you’re stuck near the airport, go to Ichibon.
