Paradise Point All American BBQ & Fireworks Extravaganza – July 3, 2007
The Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego is hosting the All American BBQ & Fireworks Extravaganza on July 3, 2007. The event will include a fireworks display and Kansas City style Barbecue. The press release claims this is San Diego’s largest display of fireworks over Mission Bay, lasting a full 30 minutes. That’s a lot of pyrotechnics.
The event is open to the public and begins with all-you-can-eat barbecue. Afterward, event-goers can see the brilliant display of San Diego’s largest and most breathtaking fireworks show over the beautiful Mission Bay.
The barbecue begins at 6:00 p.m., with buffet-style barbecue, including things like St. Louis-style pork ribs, burnt end of beef and brisket and hickory smoked chicken. Sounds tasty. Complementing the meats will be a wide array of tantalizing salads and sides, such as fresh dill and potato salad, cheesy corn, dirty rice, tossed green salad, with choice of Texas-style ranch dressing or champagne vinaigrette, and cornbread muffins. That all sounds great, except the potato salad. I’m not a fan. Cold beverages and desserts, including bread pudding with bourbon whiskey sauce and apple and pecan tarts are the grand finale. Face painters, hair braiders, balloons and other activities will entertain the kids.
Fireworks and live entertainment begin at 9 p.m. The price is $68 for adults and $25 for children aged 12 and under. To purchase advance tickets or for additional information on overnight resort packages and rates, call (858) 274-4630, or (800) 344-2626.
