You Suck
A Message for US Airways

US Airways just decided to restructure their Mileage Plus awards chart, with the number of miles needed for many destinations shooting up. This, coupled with the airlines recent decision to institute an 18 month miles expiration time frame, makes me think US Airways doesn’t really want to participate in a frequent flyer program.

According to Upgrade: Travel Better, “flights between North America and “South and Central Asia” now run 80,000 miles for coach/120,000 for business/160,000 for first class — up from 60/90/120 thousand respectively.”

I am a member of the Mileage Plus program, although not an active customer of the airline, and this is the first I’ve heard of the change. Thanks for keeping your users up to speed, guys. Even at this, I don’t think they’re as shady as Northwest WorldPerks who wouldn’t let me use my miles to go to Australia and implied my miles are useless from Little Rock.

Here is the new awards chart.
