How to Avoid Rush Hour Traffic in Memphis: Sun Studios

Sun Studios, THE Sun Studios, where the legends of the 50’s recorded, including Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King and (the man) Johnny Cash, is located in Downtown Memphis, Tennessee. They have 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. tours that are just perfect for avoiding rush hour traffic leaving downtown.

Boy is that place small. It is amazing that an entire musical generation was shaped in the room. People like Bono and Beck still record there, but only on occasion.

And get this, you can STILL RECORD AT SUN STUDIOS in the evenings. No joke. I’m practicing for my debut appearance there.
