Netflix Instant Watch

Netflix Instant Watch

Netflix, the popular online movie rental service, is now offering viewers what they need most - instant gratification. Subscribers can now watch programming instantly, with the Instant Watch feature launched in January. I am not actually a subscriber to the service (I’m just not much of a TV or movie watcher) so I’m just getting the news from my favorite online PR company. According to the release, users have taken advantage of Instant Watch 5 million times directly from their PCs over the last six months. That’s a lot of movies.

Netflix introduced the new feature, allowing subscribers to begin watching the requested programming in as little as 30 seconds. Users have an inventory of 2,000 titles to choose from, with more being added every day. The goal is to have five large available by the end of this year. Members can search for available movies by title, genre or star rating. Seriously, though, who cares about star ratings? The number of hours available for instant watching vary based on subscribers’ monthly plans.

I think this is a great service for my movie-buff business travelers. I still have to encourage you to get out of your hotel room, but it’s good to stay in and watch a movie now and then. And if you have a good wireless plan, this could be INVALUABLE for airport delays!
