World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes place every March 17th in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The celebration draws celebrity grand marshal’s, such as Norm from Cheers, Pauly Shore and Mario Lopez, who is tonight’s host.

Why is the the World’s Shortest? The parade takes place on Bridge Street, which is a whopping 50 feet long. The parade is quite long is duration, but short in distance.

What is the best part? The Elvi. There are LOADS of them running around in sparkly jumpsuits.

If you’re anyplace in the natural state for St. Paddy’s Day, I would make my way to Hot Springs. You can pick up a pub crawl t-shirt for $10 at one of the participating hotels. Ask around to find the location. The bars are going to be PACKED, so you may want to order two at a time. If you’re hungry and you don’t mind waiting an hour and a half or so, I REALLY recommend the Brau Haus for the best German cuisine in the south.
