Travel Jobs: Sports Reporter for Major League Baseball
Sports Reporter jobs let you travel and watch baseball – at the same time. Who could ask for anything more? MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, is hiring freelance and full-time columnists to cover the 2006 season.
What do you do? Write columns for your team from live games around the country; report off the field news with respect to the team; non-column writing (not sure what that means); factual/intelligent reporting; analyze and provide commentary; represent the company in a professional manner (so no acting like Daryl Strawberry).
What do you need? A 4 year college degree (preferred); LOVE and knowledge of the sport; deadline experience; be a “team player,” fantastic communication and organizational skills; innovative and not afraid to share your ideas; WILLINGNESS TO TRAVEL (that’s why we’re in it, huh?); if you habla espanol, it’s a plus.
Who is hiring? (This is so important. I would LOVE this job, but you couldn’t pay ME enough to work for the Yankees) Arizona Diamondbacks, Toronto Blue Jays, LA Angels, LA Dodgers, Oakland A’s, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies, Washington Nationals, Florida Marlins, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Royals, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, New York Yankees, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers
