American Airlines AAdvantage

25,000 seems to be the magic number with American Airlines, the pioneer of miles programs, as well. I can tell you the miles earned aren’t always very generous on this program. There is no minimum miles earned on flights, unlike some other programs, but there are sometimes bonus miles awarded for flights.

Car Rental Partners: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Europcar, Hertz, National and Thrifty

Hotel Partners: Best Western, Cesar Park, Candlewood, Clarion, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Concorde, Conrad, Country Inns, Crowne Plaza, Double Tree, Econo Lodge, Embassy Suites, Fairfield, Fairmont, Fiesta Americana, Four Points, Hampton Inn, Hilton Properties, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Homewood Suites, Hotel Indigo, Hotel JAL City, Hyatt, Intercontiental, La Quinta, Le Meridien, Lowes Hotels, MainStay Suites, Mariott Properties, Maybourne Hotel Group, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, New Otani Hotels, Nikko Hotels, Omni Hotels, Park Inn, Park Plaza, Prime Hotels, Quality Inn, Raddisson, Rennissance, Residence Inn, Rodeway Inn, Sandals, Scandic, Shangri-La, Sheraton, Sleep Inn, Sofitel Accor Hotels, Sol Melia, Staybridge, Summit, Swissotel, Luxury Collection, W Hotels, Worldhotels, Wellesley Inn & Suites, Westin and Wyndham

AAdvantage Hotel Program is also available at 5 miles per dollar spent, if you book through the website or toll-free number.

In conjuction with Dining for Miles, American also offers a Dining Program, in which you can earn miles for dining at member restaurants. In order to participate in these programs, you must register the credit card you will be using to purchase the meals.

Each card can only be registered in one program. So you can’t earn miles for American, NWA and IC Hotels at the same time.
