American Airlines “Miles for the Cure” Campaign

Race for the CureAmerican Airlines has joined the fight against cancer with the new “Miles for the Cure” fundraising campaign. Miles for the Cure rewards AAdvantage members who donate dollars to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure (that’s the Race for the Cure people) with a hefty five miles per dollar donated. You can wage your own battle against breast cancer, and score those extra miles you need for your Tax Rebate Check vacation you’ll no doubt be taking this summer. The airline is promoting this organization now with Mother’s Day in mind. Helping fight breast cancer will surely make Mom proud.

Here’s the obligatory, feel-good P.R. statement:

American Airlines has been an invaluable partner to us over the years, and we believe this new fundraising program will give audiences a new way to engage in the breast cancer movement and support research that will find the cures for breast cancer,” said Katrina McGhee, Vice President of Marketing, Susan G. Komen for the Cure. “This time of year, with Mother’s Day coming up, it’s a wonderful opportunity to recognize and remember the people we love.

American Airlines has been a national sponsor of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation for more than 20 years now, as well as being THE official carrier of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure series.

Between now and May 31, make your donation at aa.com/komen to receive the bonus miles. Go donate! It will help you and will help in the fight to end breast cancer.
