Check Your Mail Obsessively with Mail for Mobile
So you don’t have a blackberry. Me either. Luckily, even if you’re using Outlook on your laptop, you probably have some sort of web mail account acting as your POP server. If you aren’t sure about this, talk to your IT department. They should be able to give you the downlow. If not, they should probably get a different job. Many providers, including the big boys like Yahoo and G-Mail, are giving you the option to check your e-mail directly from your cell phone. You should be able to find out installation information on your providers website.
So save the eight bucks to connect at the airport and check your mail on your phone. Responding is a pain in the neck, just like typing a text message, but you can always CALL instead of trying to type out an answer. Road warriors, you don’t even have to park at Starbucks to check your mail during the day.
WARNING: If you’re bored in either the car or the airport, this can lead to obsessively checking your e-mail 30 – 50 times a day. At least that’s what happened to me.
