Continental Airlines Online Flight Change

Continental Airlines has a new feature on its website, post Hurricane Dean flight hell. You can now change your itinerary directly from the airline’s website, should your trip be interrupted by severe weather. That beats the heck out of sitting on hold with some customer service center for hours.

I’m not sure what determines whether the weather is severe enough to validate this type of change. Possibly if your flight will be significantly delayed or cancelled.
