Northwest Airlines Online Gift Registry

Airline Miles CartoonNorthwest Airlines offers an online gift registry of airline miles. Interesting. It would be more interesting if Northwest wasn’t so shisty and allowed you to use the miles once you’ve earned them. Or maybe they’ve just done that to me. I’m not sure how this fits in to business travel exactly, but the information is worth passing along to frequent travelers.

To begin your registry, go to nwa.com/giftregistry. You can request a specific dollar amount and create your own website describing your travel plans and upload a photo. Cute. You can then invite your people to visit your registry by e-mailing announcements.

Once someone forks over the dough, you can send them a thank you e-card.

This does remind me that giving airline miles to clients is a spectacular deal. You will need to get the 4-1-1 on his or her preferred airline and other details, but what a better gift than MORE cookies.
