AirTran New Service to Portland, Maine

AirTran Airways recently launched service at Portland International Jetport in Maine. AirTran will now offer three daily roundtrip flights between Portland and Baltimore/Washington, with one Saturday roundtrip flight to Orlando beginning June 9, 2007.

From the press release, “AirTran Airways is proud to bring low-fare service to the residents of Portland,” said Paul Clements, general sales manager for AirTran Airways. “Business and leisure travelers alike will snap up our low prices and appreciate the amenities our airline has to offer, including free XM Satellite Radio at every seat and EasyFit overhead bins with plenty of storage space for carry-on bags.”

Nonstop Service Between Portland, Maine and Baltimore/Washington: Flight 466 departs at 06:45 and arrives at 08:20 daily. Flight 483 departs at 12:20 and arrives at 13:55 daily. And flight 327 departs at 17:30 and arrives at 18:50.

Service from Baltimore to Portland is as follows: Flight 484 departs 10:20 and arrives at 11:45 daily. Flight 453 departs at 15:05 and arrives at 16:30 daily. And Flight 416 departs at 20:18 and arrives at 21:43.

Saturday flight 795 departs Portland 14:00 and arrives at 17:20. The return flight 799 departs at 10:05 and arrives at 13:20.

For some idea of cost, a 14 day advance purchase between Portland and Baltimore/Washington is approximately $74 with a 14 day advance purchase. A walk up for the same flight will set you back $179 and a business class ticket rings in at $249.
