AmericInn Hotel Room from Hell Story Contest

AmericInn has a fun new contest, searching high and low for the best “bizarre and humorous tales of noisy, unruly and disturbing hotel neighbors. Entrants are encouraged to either write or video their stories, using re-enactment, expressive narration, antics and sound effects. Sounds like something that should be on Skinemax Cinemax late at night. I’m a girl who needs a good night sleep, so anything I came up with would be more of a horror story.

The contest is entitled “Your Noisy Neighbor” and the payout is a $5000 “Quite Getaway” grand prize vacation. I Like quiet. Why are they doing this? It’s part of their new ad campaign, claiming their hotels are among the quietest in their class. I don’t like qualifiers like “in their class.” I want it to quiet in any class. That’s like some Hyundai bragging about being best in class. Anyway…

To enter, you can either create your “Noisy Neighbor” video, which may be no longer than one minute. The video must be uploaded to YouTube and then linked to your entry at yournoisyneighbor.com. Or you can do it the old fashioned way and submit a 200 word description of your experience at the website.

The contest ends October 14, 2007, and visitors to yournoisyneighbor.com will get to vote on their favorite Noisy Neighbor stories.

Weekly winners will be awarded $100 MasterCard gift cards and be eligible for the “Quiet Getaway” grand prize package, which includes a $5,000 MasterCard gift card, which can be applied to any “quiet” vacation the winner chooses; along with a pair of Sharper Image Quiet Place Noise Cancellation Technology headphones; and a set of soothing natural sounds CDs.
