The cardholder can enroll in the Membership Rewards Express program for free. As part of the program, for each dollar spent on any purchase you’ll earn 1 Membership Rewards point. The points never expire and there is no limit to the points you can earn. The points can be redeemed for airline tickets with any airline, hotel stays at participating hotels (even spa treatments), as well as redemptions at participants merchants such as Sony.

Additionally, cardholders can also get savings at “OPEN Saving” partner companies such as FedEx, Delta and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. If you book air, hotel or car reservations via the American Express travel reservations website you can benefit from discounts as well.

The card has no annual fee and the APR is 0% for purchases for up to 15 months. After that, the APR is as low as 11.25%, depending on your credit history. The grace period is 25 days. The introductory rate for balance transfers is fixed at 4.99% for the life of the loan if posted within the first 45 days of membership.

The card also comes with travel insurance, car rental insurance and purchase protection, which are common features for the American Express credit cards.
