Corporate Flight Attendant School
Every commercial airline in the world offers their own specialized flight attendant training program for staff. Well, now a company called Swan Heights is opening a school for flight attendants who work on private jets or corporate flights. I’m sure I hope these attendants are required to have some sort of safety training already, as in training for medical emergencies and crash landings, but I’m not really sure how that works for smaller companies.
In October of this year, Dutch entrepreneurs André Seijbel and Heidi Smale plan to start a new school for flight attendants who work on private jets. According to the press release, this is the very first institute of its kind in the world. If you’ve ever dreamed of having a travel job, this may be your foot in the door. The cool part is that you get to go to school in Amsterdam, which is a SUPER fun city!
What’s the curriculum? Students, who will live “on campus” near Amsterdam’s Schipol Airport, will spend 28 days training in the arts of:
- Safety, Security and the Paparazzi
- Hospitality & Service (and we all know what that means in Amsterdam)
- Food & Beverage (how to serve a six-course meal at 10,000 feet in the air)

Who are these people and what makes them qualified to teach corporate stews?
Both Seijbel and Smale teach their own part of the course, within their own field of expertise. Seijbel is an experienced butler and a passionate chef. He used to pamper clients with luxurious dinners on board a Challenger 604, Falcon 2000 and Falcon 900 earlier in his career. Smale has extensive experience as a travelling personal assistant and butler.
Swan Heights promises to “Offer a special and unique training that provides flight attendants with all the necessary knowledge and service awareness to ensure that the exceptional experience and service they are accustomed to is matched onboard.”
