Dollar Rent-A-Car and Thrifty Rent A Toll Pass24

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc., the parent company of both Dollar Rent-A-Car and Thrifty, is expanding the Rent A Toll Pass24 program to include the greater Houston area. Handy for me as I’m currently in Houston. The program was sucessfully tested in Dallas in the fall and will now expand throughout the US market.

Pass24 is a prepaid toll service for customers of the rental agencies. Customers pre-pay a charge of $8.95 per day, which includes all tolls incurred that day. Yes, that is probably a premium when compared to the pay at the toll price, but I think it’s well worth the convenience (as well as the toll violations tickets some of us regularly incur). Pass24 allows drivers to use the express lanes, bypassing the cash lanes and eliminates the need to carry exact change. The program is available with any class of vehicle rented. The charges are itemized on your rental receipt, which is handy when filling out expense reports.
