Free Avant-Guide Travel Guidebooks

Avant-Guide, the travel guidebook series in the United States, is offering potential customers the chance to download a selection of their most popular titles for free. If you plan to travel to any of the included destinations for business or pleasure, it’s certainly worth checkin gout. The online books are available for download through WOWIO, a new online bookstore that has worked out how to monetize “free” books through targeted sponsorships. That’s great news. The company is betting the free ebooks will ultimately stimulate demand from traditional distribution channels by increasing awareness of their brand. So it’s a marketing scheme in which users can benefit.

The Avant-Guide books are available in .pdf format (which can be viewed by downloading the FREE Adobe reader) and include full-color photos. The ebooks are exact copies of the printed guides, which go for $20 each.

WOWIO includes three “sponsorship pages” which is code for advertisements. There are two in the front and one in the back. Because copyright laws vary by country, the free ebooks are available to U.S. residents only.
