From sea to shining sea, www.historichotels.org provides information and booking information for the hotels of note in the United States. Why not go someplace interesting and learn the history when your travels take you away from home.

Historic Hotels of America is program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The organization has identified more than 200 hotels that have faithfully maintained their historic integrity, architecture and ambiance. To be selected for this program, a hotel must be at least 50 years old, listed in or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places or recognized as having historic significance. This could also be a conversation starter for the clients you’re visiting in town.
