Impress Your Houston Clients: Take Them to Minute Maid Park

Minute Maid Park

I’m not a big fan of the Astros (I’m a Braves girl, that should explain it all), but lots of business travelers visit Houston frequently so I feel obliged to tell you all about Minute Maid Park. It’s the coolest baseball stadium I’ve ever seen, and therefore a great opportunity to impress clients and colleagues in Houston. It was built in 2000, so it isn’t a historic park but I think it’s way cooler than the other new parks that have been built since then.

Wrigley was inspiring by virtue of being THE Wrigley Field, Turner Field is great because of all the fun stuff and Busch Stadium has amazing views, but none of them have anything on the former Enron Field.

What’s so cool about the home of the ‘Stros? The whole ceiling opens up. I don’t care who you are, that’s an awesome sight to see. It’s like a great big overhead garage door for baseball. Also, there is a train running around the perimeter. I know, a train in a baseball stadium is weird. It’s there to commemorate Union Station, the railroad being the reason for the existence of the city of Houston and the main entrance to the stadium.

Guess what? NLCS tickets go on sale about 2 hours ago. You better get them while the getting is good, otherwise you’ll have to go to an on-line scalper.
