NewYork.Com Mobile Hotel Reservations

I Heart New YorkiMAN, Inc. has launched a new evolutionary Mobile Hotel Reservation site in conjunction with NewYork.com. The new mobile platform will enable NewYork.com’s city site information to be accessible on cell phones around the globe. In addition, the mobile connection will allow users to book hotels for any city in the United States. Got that? You can book a hotel room from your cell phone. What a great tool for road warriors. In my former sales job, I often didn’t know what city would be the best stop for me while on road trips. I hated to blow in to town and THEN try to find a room, it’s such an inconvenience. With this, you could book a room an hour or two out, once you know where you want to stay.

According to the press release, “Under the terms of the agreement, iMAN has developed the technology that will allow NewYork.com’s more nearly 1 million unique visitors each month to have the ability to search, view, reserve and pay securely for hotel rooms on their mobile wireless device at https://mobile.newyork.com. Unlike other technologies in the industry, iMAN will allow
mobile.newyork.com users to access the site instantly without a downloaded application to their phone and regardless of whether they have an everyday cell phone, PocketPC, Blackberry or SmartPhone.” So you don’t have to download something like Opera Mini, although I suggest you do for other applications (it’s free).

John Maier, the founder of iMAN, not the singer of “Your Body is a Wonderland, promises, “With NewYork.com, we are building the first of many mobile programs for the Hospitality and Travel industry that will also include other transactions such as airline and car rental reservations, last minute event ticketing, restaurant reservations and mobile food ordering for their clients.” I LOVE it!!
