Omni Chicago Hotel Cathedral District Walking Tour

Chicago Cathedral

The Omni Chicago Hotel is always up to something fun in my favorite city in America. The property is now partnering with the Cathedral District Association to offer the new Cathedral District Walking Tour. This kills so many birds with one stone for business travelers – doing something healty, getting out of the hotel bar, learning about the city, getting out of the hotel bar…

From the new-gothic style of the Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary to the first athletic club for women in the United
States — Women’s Athletic Club — the Cathedral District Walking Tour will allow locals and travelers alike to indulge in Chicago’s history and spirituality.

The tour begins at the Fourth Presbyterian Church, the second oldest building on the famed Michigan Avenue. From there, participants will cover an area ranging on the west from LaSalle Boulevard bound by Michigan Avenue on the east and north from
Delaware Place south to Ontario Street. The tour ends at the Omni Chicago Hotel. Right back at your doorstep.

“From beautiful cathedrals to the Great Fire of 1871, Chicago is a city with a rich history to share,” said Bill Bennett, area director of sales for the Omni Chicago Hotel. “We are honored to partner with the Cathedral District to bring to life a piece of Chicago heritage, not only to our visitors, but those native to Chicago.”

Weather permitting, which is saying a lot in Chicago at this time of the year, the tour is available Saturdays throughout 2007.
The tour begins at 10 a.m. (which is a little early for me) and ends at 11:30 a.m. at the Omni Chicago Hotel. Lunch will be served at the Hotel’s restaurant, 676. The cost of the tour is $35 and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Cathedral District’s programs. I can’t wait to do this tour!!
