Paris Day Tours from London

ParisBritish Tours is a company that offers day trips from London to Paris. It’s the perfect opportunity for business travelers to London with a little time to kill who want to see the City of Lights. Think it’s too long of a trip for a day? According to the press release, there is an increase in demand for these tours, based on Eurostar’s move of the London terminus from Waterloo to St Pancras International.

Eurostar, for all you Americans who don’t have a clue what’s going on across the pond, is the high speed train service between the two cities. The company has been planning for months to move the London station, making the trip between London and Paris a speedy 2 hours 15 minutes each way. If you’re determined to see Paris, but you itinerary only includes the U.K., this could certainly be an option for you.

Overall, I’m an independent traveler. I find tours annoying and limiting. But if I only had a day, I think I would leave it up to the pro’s to get me to all the sites. British Tours day trips include flexible travel on Eurostar, a private tour guide and transport in Paris. All good things.

The standard tour includes visits to the Arc de Triomphe over Avenue de Champs Elysees, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, the Pantheon, the final resting place of Marie Curie and Voltaire (what about Jim Morrison?!), Hotel des Invalides, the artists quarter of Paris Montmartre, the Basilica of the Sacre-Coeur, The Louvre as well as many more of Paris’ best-known and lesser-known sights. That is A LOT of ground to cover in a day. I saw no mention of Moulin Rouge or any of the other sexy stuff. Too bad.

Your guide will recommend a spot for lunch and will take you shopping if you make it through the sites in time. He or she will then return you to Paris Gare du Nord station for your return journey to London.

The meeting point for the tours is at London’s St. Pancras Station, 45 minutes prior to departure.
