* Review: Mariasol Cocina is smack dab at the end of the Santa Monica Pier. It’s pretty pricey for Mexican, but what do you expect when you’re dining at the end of a pier in LA? I had the seafood enchiladas, which were pretty good. Served with sour cream sauce and a side of rice, beans and all of the salsa you can stomach, you’ll definitely not leave hungry. The patio is a fantastic place to sip a margarita (also pretty pricey) and unwind. Honestly, you can get a better margarita at Bubba Gump’s right down the pier. Unfortunately, Bubba Gump’s does not offer patio dining. Your choice is to save 3 bucks per drink, or sit outside. There is a little pigeon problem on the patio, which is especially scary if you’re wearing flip flops. Unfortunately for me, that problem was exacerbated by the guy at the next table feeding the pigeons chips. This is a great spot to munch on some Mexican and watch the sun set in to the Pacific. The food was okay, but you’re really paying for the location. If you’re just hungry and could care less about the view, go someplace else.

If you need to pay separately, tell the waiter ahead of time. There were three of us and they refused to split up the tab. Really, when 3 girls go to a restaurant, it’s probably going to be separate checks…
