* Review: I was SUPER excited to hear that the Pike Pub had one of the best salmon sandwiches to offer in Seattle. Touristy as it may be, it was about 2 blocks from my hotel on a recent business trip and therefore perfect. Smoked salmon has always been a big hit with me, so I couldn’t wait to sample the local flavor of the Pacific Northwest. The salmon sandwich was pretty much just a burger, but served with salmon instead of the beef. I expected it to have some sort of flavor, but it was sorely lacking. It had all of the burger fixings, mayo, tomato, lettuce and onion and came on a sesame seed bun. Pretty boring, truth be told. I guess I was expecting smoked salmon with cream cheese and spices. Now THAT would have been a good sammie. The fries were excellent – nice and salty thick cut steak fries. You can’t visit a microbrewery without tasting the beer. I sampled the India Pale Ale and it was pretty tasty and cool. But keep in mind I’m no beer connoisseur.
