Statue of Liberty Online Tickets

Statue of LibertyVisitors to New York City generally have a few “must see” attractions in the city, like the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty. I would advise you to take the Staten Island Ferry to drive past the statue for free, but if you really want to do the whole shebang this is how you do it.

Statue Cruises is now offering ticket sales for the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Immegration Museum online. For trips that will take place on or after January 1, 2008, tickets may be purchased at statuecruises.com.

This site offers “reserve tickets,” which save you a bundle of time standing in line. You can select the date and time you would like to visit from the site.

In addition, you can print your eticket from anywhere. No standing in some will-call line waiting to get in for you. It comes as a PDF file and is similar to etickets used in the airline industry. When you get to the embarkation point, go straight to the security line.

If you aren’t a planner, don’t worry. You can still purchase standard tickets at the window in Castle Clinton in Battery Park or the Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal in Liberty State Park. You can also buy a “flex ticket” that will let you visit at any time within a 3 day period.

“The National Park Service and Statue Cruises share a vision of making the visitor experience to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island more convenient, educational and customer service oriented,” said Cynthia Garrett, superintendent of the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island. “And the new online ticketing and reservation system represents a first, and very important step, in making that vision a reality for our visitors.”
