U.S. Embassy in Mexico City
If you need any further evidence that Twitter is becoming more mainstream with every passing day, look no further than the fact that the U.S. Embassy in Mexico has its own Twitter account. (They’re also on Facebook and YouTube, too.) But if you’d prefer some old-fashioned face time with the Embassy, or need to visit them in person when you’re in Mexico City, then Twitter just won’t do.
As one of the countries closest to the United States, and one of the most popular vacation destinations for Americans, it’s good to know that the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City is there for you – whether you’re traveling to Mexico for business, pleasure, or a little of both.
When you see the address of the Embassy below, don’t be confused or think we’ve listed the wrong office. The mailing address doesn’t include the words “Mexico City,” because the term that’s used (especially when you’re talking about addresses) is “Distrito Federal” or the simple abbreviation of “D.F.” instead. The boundaries of Distrito Federal and Mexico City are the same, and for all intents and purposes the two names are synonymous.
Note that U.S. tourists traveling in Mexico don’t need a tourist visa to enter the country – but Americans going to Mexico in order to work or study in Mexico do need to obtain a visa before they go.
Here’s what you’ll need to know about contacting or getting to the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, Mexico.
