WorldPerks Visa Platinum Card

WorldPerksIf you have very good credit and fly with Northwest Airlines and their partner airlines often, the WorldPerks® Visa® Platinum Card issued by US Bank is definitely the airline mileage credit card to consider using. The reason it suits those who travel on Northwest Airlines is the reward system offered with the card.

Quick facts:

  • Our rating: B+
  • Interest rate: 14.75% variable
  • Earning rewards: 5 miles per dollar in certain restaurants; 1 dollar per mile everywhere else
  • Reward options: Northwest Airlines tickets or at any partner airlines

When you are using your card, each dollar spent on general purchases earns you a mile. In certain restaurants you can earn 5 miles per dollar. The miles earned can be redeemed for Northwest Airlines tickets or at any partner airlines, which include: Delta Air Lines, China Southern, Continental Airlines, Alaska Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Air France, Alitalia and Aeromexico. The miles don’t expire and there is no spending limit.

The APR is 14.75% variable and the grace period is 20-25 days. The cash advance fee is 3% but no less than $5.00.

Additional benefits that come with the card include: auto rental collision damage waiver program, warranty manager service, purchase security, travel & emergency assistance services, emergency cash disbursement & card replacement, zero liability and lost/stolen card reporting.

For this type of card the annual fee is reasonable, if you travel on Northwest Airlines or with their partner airlines often and if you afford to pay in full each month, the WorldPerks® Visa® Platinum Card is a good choice.
